Walk for Identity

This year marks 143 years since the first Indian Residential Schools were implemented under the Indian Act.

Toronto Council Fire Native Cultural Centre in partnership with #ReconciliACTIVE are committed to work towards Truth and Reconciliation. The Walk for Identity is an opportunity for Indigenous and non-Indigenous people to honour residential and day school survivors, the children lost to their communities and those affected inter-generationally. Indigenous and non-Indigenous people will walk together in the spirit of reconciliation. Participants can walk in the memory of their family and community members.

Participants will be able to make direct donations or obtain sponsorship from friends and family. For sponsorship, please click the “Sponsor a Participant” button below and complete the form. The First 200 registrants that have obtained a sponsorship when they check in at the Registration Tent will get a free #ReconciliACTIVE T-Shirt. The thermometer below captures our progress on achieving our goal of raising $25,000. You can help us get closer by making an individual donation or sponsoring a participant for the walk.
